Embracing the vision of Chairman Hong Il-sik, who first proposed the concept of "cultural territory theory" to Korean academia in 1981 and devoted his life to broadening the public's understanding of the value of our spiritual culture, centered on filial piety culture as the most distinguished of our traditional cultures, the Research Institute for Cultural Territory seeks to discover the resources of traditional and national culture embedded throughout our way of life and, after re-creating them for our time, to contribute not only to cultivating our people's cultural refinement but also to spreading Korean culture to every corner of the world.
Based on research into the theory and practical guidelines of "cultural territory theory," the Research Institute for Cultural Territory plans to carry out the following activities.
- ① Research and support for policy development related to cultural territory.
- ② Research and support for the development of traditional culture.
- ③ Research and support for activities concerning the expansion and reproduction of filial piety culture.
- ④ Research and support for the development and globalization of national culture.
- ⑤ Other projects necessary to achieve the purposes of the foundation.
Through these research activities and support, we firmly pledge to contribute not only to cultivating the cultural refinement of our people but also to the globalization of Korean culture.
