Article 1 Purpose
The purpose of these rules is to prescribe matters concerning the submission of papers for publication in Cultural Territory Studies, the academic journal of the Research Institute for Cultural Territory (hereinafter "the Institute").
Article 2 Scope of Submissions
1. Research papers on the following topics may be submitted to Cultural Territory Studies.
① The globalization of national culture as a nation's soft power
② Ways to creatively inherit and develop our national culture
③ The current state and spread of Hallyu (K-Culture) at home and abroad
④ Academic analysis of "cultural territory theory"
⑤ Other topics whose relevance is recognized by the Editorial Board
2. Submitted research papers must not have been published in other publications.
Article 3 Eligibility
Submission to Cultural Territory Studies is limited to holders of a master's degree or higher, or those with equivalent qualifications, who are interested in "cultural territory theory."
Article 4 Prohibition of Consecutive Submissions
1. Consecutive submission means that an author who published a paper in the immediately preceding issue submits again to the next issue; for fairness among members, consecutive submissions are prohibited.
2. However, exceptions are made when one of multiple co-authors submits alone to the next issue, or, conversely, when a sole author subsequently submits together with multiple co-authors.
Article 5 Preparation of Manuscripts
1. In principle, all submitted papers are written in Korean or English. For papers written in other foreign languages, the Editorial Board decides whether to publish a translation.
2. All submitted papers must be 12 to 15 A4 pages in length. The abstract should be about half an A4 page, and at least five keywords must be given.
3. All submitted papers must be written in "Hangul" (HWP); if unavoidable, a compatible program must be used.
Article 6 Duty to Disclose the Use of Generative Artificial Intelligence
1. Artificial intelligence may be used in processes such as developing ideas and collecting and analyzing data, but it must ultimately be used according to the author's intellectual judgment, and the author bears responsibility for it.
2. Authors must transparently disclose the use of artificial intelligence and its scope in the writing process through footnotes and a separate document, and must not conceal or falsify this.
3. Since artificial intelligence cannot be the author of a paper, authors must bear in mind that failing to confirm information generated by artificial intelligence or to verify its descriptions constitutes a violation of research ethics.
4. Whether the use of artificial intelligence violates research ethics is determined in accordance with the Research Ethics Rules.
Article 7 Structure of Manuscripts
1. All submitted papers must follow the structure below.
[Title – Author (affiliation and position) – Korean abstract – Korean keywords – Body – References – English title – English author name (English affiliation and position) – English abstract – English keywords]
2. All submitted papers must state the author's name and e-mail address at the end of the manuscript.

Article 10 Reference Format
1. References are divided into books, papers, and other materials, with books listed at the top of the reference list. As a rule, entries are arranged in Korean alphabetical (ga-na-da) order.
① Books
② Papers
③ Other materials
Internet sources, news articles, and the like are listed as "other materials" at the bottom of the reference list.
2. When the number of references is small, instead of subdividing as in 1 above, they may be presented by distinguishing only domestic sources (in ga-na-da order) and foreign sources (in alphabetical order).
3. The reference list includes only the sources mentioned in the body and footnotes, and follows the system below.
① Sources are presented in the order of domestic sources, then foreign sources.
② Domestic sources are arranged in ga-na-da order by author's name, and English and other foreign-language sources in alphabetical order by author's name.
③ When citing several translations in which a foreign author's name is rendered differently, use one unified form of the author's name. Use only one name in the footnotes and references as well. However, on the first citation in the body, state in a footnote that the name has been unified.
Footnote example) To avoid confusion, this study renders Adam Smith as "애덤 스미스." For works that render the same person as "아담 스미스," the name "애덤 스미스" will be used in the body, footnotes, and references.
④ When citing a paper or chapter in a book written by multiple authors, give only the one representative author.
e.g.) Ryu Bang-taek, "Antique Culture and Luxury," Popular Culture and Consumption, Kim Si-seup et al., Shinye Culture, 2020.
